Outfit Of The Day: Team Ankara

Welcome! As summer approaches I've been seeking new light, vibrant, and colorful pieces that are both weather and personality appropriate.

I was in luck a while back with this find at my local thrift store believe it or not. I landed a Nigerian Ankara print yellow fitted skirt. First, Ankara fabric was not something I expected to find at a Dallas thrift store. Second, I was delighted that I didn't have to give some aunt or uncle heading to Nigeria money to have a custom Ankara piece made. Phew! Can someone say winning! The skirt actually came with a matching top, and for the two items I paid a total of $3.50. Quite the steal.

For this look I paired the skirt with a some neutrals. I started off with a charcoal grey razor back tank, and belted the skirt with a thick linked belt. For a touch of spunk, I finished the look with a fitted faux leather jacked with quilted detailing and simple pointed toe black flats.

I'm looking forward to wearing this skirt throughout the summer and fall. Perfect touch of culture and color. Enjoy!
